Privacy
The short version: we collect what's needed to show your coding activity and run competitions, you choose who sees it, and you can delete all of it at any time.
What we collect
- Account: your email address (verified with a code), display name and username. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, your account id and avatar from them.
- Connected platforms: the LeetCode and GitHub usernames you connect, and their public data: solved counts, ratings, contest history, the activity calendar, recent submissions, and public GitHub events.
- From the browser extension, only on leetcode.com/problems pages: the code you submit, its verdict, runtime and memory, failed attempts, when you opened the problem, keystroke counts, and the size of pastes into the editor. It also imports your past submission list (titles, verdicts, languages, times; no code).
- Competitions: the competitions you create or join, your scores, flags you raise and your jury votes.
What we never collect
- Your LeetCode or GitHub passwords, or your LeetCode session cookies.
- Anything from other websites, other tabs, or your browsing history.
- Code you only “Run” on LeetCode: only real submissions.
Why
To show your profile and heatmap, score competitions fairly, let competitors review solutions under each competition's rules, and detect copying or farming. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use it to train AI models.
Who can see it
You decide in Settings → Privacy: your profile can be public, friends-only or private, and your solution code has its own setting. Inside a competition, its reveal rule applies (by default a rival only sees your code after solving that problem too). Your email and phone are never shown to anyone.
Where it's stored
On servers run by our infrastructure providers (database hosting, application hosting, and an email service for sign-in codes). OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. Sign-in codes are stored only as hashes and expire after 10 minutes.
Deleting your data
- Disconnecting a platform in Settings deletes everything synced from it.
- Settings → Delete my account permanently erases your account, connections, activity, submissions and notifications.
- Uninstalling the extension stops all capture immediately.
